LFCS Receives Grant to Build Future of Today’s Youth
Local Boeing employees donate to children’s services organization

ST. LOUIS, Oct. 01, 2005 - Lutheran Family and Children's Services of Missouri has received a $4,000 grant from the Employee Community Fund of Boeing St. Louis to support LFCS' childcare programs. The grant provides funding for LFCS' two childcare facilities in the St. Louis area.

Located in St. Charles, Elm Point Early Childhood Center accepts children 6 weeks through 12 years in age. Hilltop Child Development Center, located in St. Louis City, is designed for children from 2 to 5 years old. Both centers focus on the uniqueness of each child. Through a teacher-guided, child-directed environment, children experience emotional, social, physical and cognitive development. Together, the centers serve more than 200 children.

The Employees Community Fund of Boeing St. Louis is an employee-owned charitable organization that focuses on improving the St. Louis community. Employees manage and distribute funds to local organizations, like LFCS, that seek to improve the lives of people in the community. Boeing has the largest employee-owned charitable organization in the world and is active in more than 60 communities worldwide, including St. Louis.

Lutheran Family and Children's Services of Missouri is a non-profit, statewide social service organization providing counseling, adoption, crisis pregnancy assistance, day care and mentoring services to the community. With offices in St. Louis, Columbia, Cape Girardeau and Springfield, LFCS touches the lives of more than 22,000 individuals annually. The services provided by LFCS are open to everyone regardless of race, faith, national origin, gender or age. Although Lutheran based, more than 80 percent of families served are non-Lutheran.
